Angell, Travis

Class of 2025

Travis Angell, a proud Idaho cowboy, has dedicated his life to the sport of rodeo and the western way of life. Born into a family of cowboys, Travis began his journey in rodeo as a young boy and went on to achieve remarkable success in Idaho and beyond. From his high school rodeo days in Salmon, Idaho, to becoming a two-time Rocky Mountain Region Bronc Riding Champion at the College of Southern Idaho under legendary coach Shawn Davis, Travis’s accomplishments are a testament to his grit and passion.

Competing in the Idaho Cowboys Association (ICA) and Intermountain Professional Rodeo Association (IMPRA), Travis earned eight saddle bronc championships, the Wilson Pate Award, and was named "Pickup Man of the Year" six times. He also served on the IMPRA board for 10 years, shaping the future of rodeo in Idaho. As a circuit cowboy, he qualified for the Wilderness Circuit Finals 12 times, winning the title in 1996.

Beyond competition, Travis has coached high school rodeo teams, organized practice sessions for young riders, and helped many qualify for the National High School Finals and professional rodeo. For 13 years, he has co-chaired the St. Anthony Pioneer Days Rodeo, volunteering countless hours to make it one of Idaho’s finest events.

Travis’s greatest pride is his family—his wife Cari and their children Jake, Jeret, and Josee. To Travis, rodeo is more than a sport; it’s a legacy and a way of life. His induction into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame honors his lifelong contributions to Idaho rodeo and the values he strives to preserve for future generations.
