Casey Bequeath

Class of 2018

Casey’s Dad started sitting him on a saddle horse as a young toddler and then advanced to riding calves and ponies at the age of 8 years old. Casey started entering Little Britches Rodeo and then went on to High School Rodeo and won numerous event titles. In which later led to his career in rodeo joining the Idaho Cowboys Association in 1972 riding Bulls and Saddle Bronc Horses winning major rodeo’s in Oregon Washington and Idaho. Casey won his championships in the ICA Saddle Bronc riding in 1983, 1985, 1986 and also won the ICA finals in 1985 and was reserve champion in 1982, 1984, and 1987. Casey went to his first ICA finals in 1973 and qualified every year until 1987. In 1988, Casey went to a Judging school to start judging high school rodeos and ICA rodeos. Casey was voted to judge the ICA finals 22 years. He has received his gold card in the ICA and also won the Charlie Stovner Sportsmanship Award in 2013. Casey was the Bronc Riding Director for 5 years in the ICA. Casey and his son Cody were the only father and son to win the rough stock riding in Saddle Bronc and Bull riding in the Idaho Cowboy’s Association. In 2017, Casey was diagnosed with Cancer, which took him away from judging rodeos but not forgetting all the friends he made along the way and the rodeo lifestyle which he loves so much.
