Daniel, Skip

Class of 2021

As a young boy, Skip starting riding calves on his folk’s place. He came up through the ranks from Jr Rodeos to the Idaho Cowboy Rodeo Association.

Skip served in the Marine Corp in 1966 and 1967 in Vietnam and was decorated for Valor. In 1968 he helped run the rodeo for the United States Marine Corp in camp Pendleton California.

Skip went on to compete in the ICA for 20 years in the Bull Riding. He was the ICA Bull Riding Champion in 1974. Skip served as the Bull Riding Director for the ICA, he was the recipient of the ICA’s Ivan Pollard Award. Skip mentored many young bull riders.

Skip loves art and designed the spur logo for the ICA. He is a master wood carver of Cowboys, Indians, and Mountain men. Skip has illustrated several books.
