Gayle Gray

Class of 2020

Gayle was destined to be a horse person, she started riding at the age of 4 years. In the 70’s Gayle gave a working cow horse demonstration at the Caldwell Night Rodeo with Bobby Ingersoll. That’s where she watched the barrel race and wanted to start competing.
In 1974 Gayle really started to get involved with rodeo and was named Miss Rodeo California for 1975-1976 year. The next few years she would ger her Girls Rodeo Association card, now the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and compete at a few rodeos.
In 1980 Gayle would again make a trip to Idaho with Judi VanDorn to travel with Judi to the WPRA summer rodeos. Little did Gayle realize at the time that Idaho would be her home for the next 30 years.
Gayle won or placed at numerous Pro Rodeos around the Northwest. She loved the reno Rodeo, Snake River Stampede, Caldwell Night Rodeo and Pleasant Grove to name a few. Gayle qualified for the Wilderness Circuit Finals four years in a row.
Gayle has a special talent for finding nice horses and now loves to find the right rider to compliment her horse’s abilities.
