Matt Heath: Accomplished Rodeo Bullfighter

Matt Heath was born in Emmett, Idaho, into a family deeply rooted in the Western lifestyle. Inspired by his grandfather Curly Heath and father Eddie Heath, both esteemed in rodeo as clown bullfighters, Matt developed a passion for rodeo from a young age.

After graduating, Matt pursued his dream of rodeo. Starting as a bull rider, he soon transitioned into bullfighting and clowning. In 1996, Matt began his career with Gill Rodeos, quickly becoming known for his skill and bravery in the arena. Over 16 years, he worked with prominent rodeo contractors across the Northwest, including Deward and Tammy Gill, Slash T Rodeo, Bar None Rodeo, Williams and Ford Rodeo, and Superior Rodeo Company.

Matt's career highlights include working the ICA finals four times over three decades and earning the prestigious title of 1998 Pro West Bullfighter of the Year. He was renowned for his role in ensuring rider safety and entertaining audiences with his daring performances. Matt retired from active bullfighting after the 2012 ICA finals, capping off a successful career spanning multiple rodeo disciplines and achievements.
Outside the arena, Matt actively contributes to community organizations like the Gem County Fair and Rodeo. His legacy in rodeo and commitment to his community reflect his enduring passion and dedication to the Western way of life. His support for the rodeo lifestyle and his role in sustaining the sport make him a deserving inductee into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame
