Lee Markholt

Class of 2020

A Cowboy who worked both ends of the arena, rough stock and timed event. Lee holds 9 All Around Champion Cowboy Awards in the PRCA for bull riding and Steer Wrestling, not a combination you hear of often.
Lee qualified for the NFR in Oklahoma City, OK in the bull riding in 1970.
Lee won or placed at many PRCA rodeos throughout the years. A few of those highlights are Caldwell, Blackfoot, Lewiston, Weiser and Nampa Idaho. One memorable ride was a Charolais cross bull of Kelsey Rodeo Companies that had never been ridden, Lee made the whistle on him at the Snake River Stampede, to be the first. Lee was the first cowboy to get qualified rides on some of the top ranked eliminator bulls in the PRCA.
Lee was known for taking his bull rope with him after making a qualified ride because he didn’t want his rope to get muddy.
Lee also served as a PRCA judge and is a Rodeo mentor to many.
