Pehrson, Loy

Class of 2025

From the heart of Darlington, Idaho, Loy and Byron Pehrson have spent over 40 years shaping the rodeo world through grit, livestock savvy, and a deep love for the cowboy way of life. As founders of P & P Rodeo Company, these brothers didn’t just produce rodeos—they built a legacy.

In 1999, they co-founded the Professional Bull Riding Invitational (P.B.I.), bringing top-tier bull riding events to Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. Their “Born to Buck” program has raised bulls and horses that have competed at the highest levels, including the NFR. Through it all, they’ve passed down their knowledge and values to sons, grandsons, and many young cowboys they’ve helped along the way.

Together, they’ve raised top-quality bucking stock, produced countless rodeos across Idaho and beyond, and mentored generations of rodeo talent. Many of the horses and bulls they raised have gone on to perform on some of the biggest stages in the sport.

Their reputation for producing high-caliber events—from the hometown Darlington Rodeo to large-scale pro shows—is matched only by their humble, hard-working spirit. Loy and Byron never sought the spotlight. Instead, they poured their hearts into building thrilling rodeos, supporting the next generation, and keeping Idaho’s western traditions alive.

Please join us in tipping our hats to Loy & Byron Pehrson—true champions of the sport and the spirit of rodeo. 🐎🌾
