Rhoades, Rod

Class of 2024

Rod Rhoades, born in Walla Walla, WA, and raised in Caldwell, Idaho, has made significant contributions to rodeo at both the competitive and organizational levels. As a talented bull rider, Rod earned the district 2 High School Bull Riding Championship and achieved notable victories at rodeos in Nyssa, Saratoga Springs, NY, and Jackson Hole, WY. His success continued with numerous team roping wins in 4D, DP arenas, and ACTRA events.

Rod's commitment to rodeo extended beyond competition. He served two terms as the district 2 High School Rodeo Adult President and was an active member of the Idaho State High School Rodeo Board. He also played a key role in organizing yearly team roping’s through Mountainview Church of the Nazarene and served as chute boss for the Snake River Stampede. His leadership was further demonstrated through his presidency of the Caldwell Exchange Club Little Britches Rodeo and his role as a rodeo coach at Treasure Valley Community College.

After starting his rodeo career with bull riding and bronc riding in the PRCA, Rod transitioned to team roping to stay closer to home with his growing family. He has been an integral part of various organizations, including the Caldwell Exchange Club Little Britches Rodeo, the Got Milk Rodeo Series, the Gem State Rodeo Association, and the Idaho High School Rodeo Association. Additionally, he has judged numerous junior rodeos and contributed to the Rodeo Bible Camp in Cambridge, Idaho.

Rod Rhoades’s extensive achievements and unwavering dedication to rodeo make him a worthy inductee into the Idaho Rodeo Hall of Fame.
