Steve Kaufman

Class of 2020

Steve made the National High School Rodeo Finals in Nebraska in 1955. He made the trek to the Midwest with two of his teenage buddies and fellow contestants, Jim Siebel and Don Patterson.
Steve and Patti moved to Idaho after being married in 1968. They began going to ICA rodeos in 1969, Steve as a heeler. Over the years, Steve placed or won at most every association approved, amateur rodeo he entered, qualifying for the ICA finals numerous times. He also served as director at-large and the Team Roping director for the Idaho Cowboys Association. For his contributions to rodeo, Steve was awarded the Louie Reinman Award and received his Gold Card from the ICA.
Steve and Patti enjoyed roping together, and qualified for the National Senior Pro Rodeo Finals numerous times and were twice the Circuit Champions.
The Friendships made while going to rodeos have lasted a lifetime.
